#ExploringBudapest, a farewell letter

"Dear Budapest, it's the 15th of July of 2018, the end of an era — for me. I've summarized my 6-years-story as an expat in 6-min read. Nevertheless, this is not one of my typical travel diaries, but my perspective of the city from a local with a twist of tourist feels. The sense of belonging has never arisen, but now I know what kept me here for so long, the simple lifestyle, which made living in this city a constant re-evalution of my values."

The Metamorphosis

Six years ago, year of 2012, I left my hometown to come here for a short-team exchange. Besides being a first time tourist in Europe I was also an exchange trainee, an AIESECer, an online writer and a community manager for Brazilians in Hungary, a main participant in a documentaty about Budapest available in Netflix Brasil, a Hungarian language student, a party organizer and an Alien in Budapest by WeLoveBudapest.

It was intense, so intense that I couldn’t see myself living here any longer, so I decided to return to Brazil. One month later here I was again…and it was for sure one of the best…
